we pray

Keep us Good Lord under the shadow of your mercy in this time of uncertainty and distress. Sustain and support the anxious and fearful and lift up all who suffer, that we may rejoice in your comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love. This we pray in your name.
Amen.

Saying Goodbye to a Tree

Tomorrow (Thurs July 31), we’ll be saying farewell to one of the large trees on our property. While it’s always sad to lose a tree, this one has become a safety hazard and needs to be removed for the well-being of all who use our space.

Please note:
The parking lot will be closed all day Thursday. Expect considerable noise from the work being done

We appreciate your understanding as we take this necessary step, and we’re grateful for the years of shade and beauty this tree has given us.

This Week’s Collect
Almighty God, your Son Jesus Christ fed the hungry with the bread of his life and the word of his kingdom. Renew your people with your heavenly grace, and in all our weakness sustain us by your true and living bread, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

As we journey through the week, may we find strength and renewal in Christ—the true and living bread who nourishes body and soul.

This Week’s Collect
O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, increase and multiply upon us your mercy, that with you as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

As we navigate the busy and fleeting moments of life, may this prayer ground us in what truly lasts.

Toronto-St. Pauls for Palestine, a group of residents committed to advocating for the rights of Palestinians, will be hosting a screening of the film A Letter to My Tribe with the Filmmaker b. h. Yael on Tuesday, July 15th 7pm at Trinity St. Paul United Church, on Bloor.

The film asks the question: Why dont more Jews and Israelis speak out about Palestine? Grounded in the arguments the filmmaker has had with her mother, it brings together documentation of action on the ground and the filmmakers personal family histories.

The event will be 10 dollars suggested, with no one turned away for lack of funds, mostly to help pay for the venue, with proceeds going to Davenport Aid Brigade. You can register here: bit.ly/44A2b4Q

Collect of the Week

Almighty God, you have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you...

This week’s collect is a beautiful reminder that true peace is found not in the things of this world, but in God’s presence and purpose for us. As we serve Him now, we hold hope in the promise of seeing Him face to face.

May we rest in His love today and always.

Join us in prayer and worship this week at Christ Church Deer Park. All are welcome (8am, 9:15am & 10:30am)!

The Story behind our

Tracker Organ

Our magnificent three manual, tracker-action organ was installed in the chancel of the church in the spring of 1982 and dedicated to the Glory of God and in memory of those who died in the First World War and the Second World War.

The organ, built by the Karl Wilhelm Company of Mont St. Hilaire, Quebec, has a classical continental design. The case is made of white oak and the pipe shades are of carved butternut. Voiced in the classic French style, its 36 stops and 50 ranks are capable of interpreting a wide variety of organ literature.

Installation required considerable changes to the chancel including moving the altar forward and arranging choir seating to either side. These renovations prompted the design and production of our award-winning Benedicite Kneelers, done in needlepoint by a dedicated group of church members.
